Our lab had the honor of hosting Dr. Hongxing Wang, Director of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Zhongda Hospital, Southeast University, Nanjing, China. Dr. Wang is a distinguished expert in spinal cord injury (SCI) rehabilitation and neuroprotection. His research has made significant contributions to understanding the mechanisms of SCI recovery, particularly in the application of exercise training and neuromodulation for promoting functional recovery.
During his visit, Dr. Wang shared insights into his recent studies on integrating neuroprotective strategies with physical rehabilitation techniques to enhance spinal cord excitability and improve locomotor function post-injury. His groundbreaking work in using IL-10 to suppress secondary injury in SCI models and leveraging neural circuits for rehabilitation therapy has earned international recognition. We look forward to future collaborations with Dr. Wang and his team in advancing neuroprotective treatments for SCI.
